Vessel 01

Our proposal for Heath Park deliberately acts as an antidote to the abstract and non-tangible aspects of the digital economy through a relentless pursuit for physicality and beauty. Our masterplan celebrates the embodied experience of crafted spaces, places and things. Inspired by the work of Paul le Pinnet, scientific glass-blowing that is at once crafted and necessary for technical innovation, we supported our proposals by commissioning a series of physical objects that form a table setting - a bespoke bowl made from local Runcorn red clay, a digitally printed organic linen tablecloth, and a unique Paul le Pinnet wineglass loaned from a Runcorn artist.

The bowl was made by Nina Salsotto Cassina, an artist based in Milan. Copyright of photographs below and above - Nina Salsotto Cassina.

This unique collection of physical objects seeks to capture and distill our masterplan ideas to the intimate scale of a table.

The geology of the local area was fundamental to our masterplan proposal, a series of buildings highly situated in their landscape to inscribe a material culture onto our proposals.
